Hey Gorgeous RWs!

It is almost 7:00am on this hot and sticky Saturday and I realized that I have been procrastinating writing all my blog posts. Why? Because I can. Because I don’t think they are good enough. Because I have been so busy with other things that I haven’t had the time to dedicate to writing. All of these excuses are bull shit by the way.

In fact, at the moment that I write this post I am procrastinating putting the finishing touches on a speech I have to deliver tomorrow at One Woman International’s event ONE WOMAN FEARLESS– ironic, I am aware. All of the above excuses are actually part of my speech tomorrow on ‘why your excuses are bull shit’– just kidding its about achieving your goals through time management and mindset shifts. Again, Ironic. So as I sat staring at my computer screen wondering what else I could do I decided to write a blog post.

I realized that a lot of the time when we know we have to do something that is going to move us towards our goals, we procrastinate. It might be scary, it might be uncomfortable but I think too often we chalk it up to ‘universal resistance’ and assume its our intuition letting us know that it’s the wrong decision. As a recovering perfectionist, I can tell you that 98% of my procrastination comes from waiting for the conditions to be perfect before I start something.

I should probably be honest with you now and say that I have only had two sips of coffee and I’ve been up since 4:30am… but I’m here to share with you one of my favourite sayings.

JFDI.

Not Jedi (one letter off) or JFK (two letters off) but JFDI. What does that spell? NOTHING… it’s an acronym!

Coffee brain aside… JFDI stands for

Just.

Fucking.

Do.

It.

Get off your butt (or get on your butt if its writing a speech) and Just. Fucking. Do. It.

Post the thing; write the book; take the course; publish the website– grab that net and catch that beautiful butterfly pal! (points if you can name the movie)

It might be messy… it might suck, but at the end of the day (or beginning in my case) as long as you take action, you’re moving forward towards your goals.

So at the very least, let this serve as my commitment to you that I will make every effort to publish content on a regular basis regardless of its imperfections.

Well, that’s really all from me right now gorgeous RWs… I actually do need to write this speech… so I’m gonna go JFDI.

xoxo,

S
